Got a call from some bloke pretending to be from Carphone Warehouse, told me I ain't a customer and to take my number off their list, then he got all defensive so I just ended the call and blocked the number. Answered it 'cause it had a Cheltenham area code where my family lives, but obviously just spam. Proper fed up with these spam calls, I get loads every week!

However, two major red flags popped up: Firstly, Carphone Warehouse doesn’t refer to itself as ‘the carphone,’ and secondly, I couldn’t find any Xiaomi phones listed on their official site. So be wary; it seems fishy!

They told me I wasn’t with BT and warned that not checking my download speeds could damage my router. I calmly said I’d hang up and call BT Openreach directly to verify. That’s when the caller’s tone suddenly got a bit pushy, trying to keep me on the line.
