Got a call from someone who said "Curry's Mobile" or summat similar, but their strong South Asian accent made it hard to catch - not really what I'd expect from a UK telemarketer, especially from such an obscure 01242 number! Feels dodgy to me, as they kept on even though I’m pretty sure I didn’t sound like easy prey. If it was legit "Curry's Mobile," I’d expect them to respect the Telephone Preference Service rules.

There was just silence before I heard a clicking sound and some noisy chatter from what sounded like a call centre.

The person claimed to be "Jack" from Carphone Warehouse.

They didn’t actually know my name, just greeted me with "Hello ma’am, how are you today?"

Since I’ve never dealt with Carphone Warehouse, I hung up straight away.
