Despite that, they've phoned me at least five more times today. I checked online and found loads of bad reviews about the same number, so I've decided to block them.

I got this recorded message saying my card was used fraudulently! Honestly, no idea what they’re after. I think you’re meant to press 2 if you didn’t authorise the £??? payment abroad, then they try to get your account details and PIN! It’s so easy for someone to be tricked. They never mentioned which bank or card it was, just hoping to catch someone off guard. Why don’t these lot just get proper jobs? There’s plenty of work around!

It was blatantly dodgy, so I decided to have a bit of fun with it. I started chatting about how lonely I felt over the festive season, and I even inquired if they worked for a befriending service. I said I'd just like a moment to brew a cup of tea before we continued. After that, they promptly hung up!

Total fraudster! They rang me pretending to be from Virgin Media, going on about some sort of special offer. They started quizzing me about what mobile I use and how much my bill is. When I started probing for more details, the person abruptly cut me off, saying, "If you're not interested, see ya!" Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Got a call from some lot pretending to be Carphone Warehouse, but they don't exist anymore - it’s Curry's Carphone now. These folks are from a call centre, probably in Pakistan, pushing a deal on an iPhone 11 for £25 a month. They ask for your details, then sign you up for an iPhone 13 Pro Max on all sorts of networks, send the phones off somewhere you'll never get them, and then the credit goes bad because you’re never gonna pay for those phones. Seriously, don’t hand over your info to anyone saying they're from Carphone Warehouse.

Got a call from a bloke speaking with a thick Indian accent, saying he was John from Car Phone Warehouse trying to sell me some amazing deals on iPhones and Apple gear. When I asked where he was ringing from, he said Birmingham. But as soon as I questioned why the number showed up as Barrow-in-Furness, he just cut the call. Definitely dodgy. Looks like it was a spoof call coming from outside the UK using some call masking trick. Blocked the number straight away.
