I had a rather peculiar phone call from a chap claiming to be with the NHS, inquiring whether I experienced any side effects from the Covid jab. I told him I hadn’t, and then he shifted the conversation to whether I had life insurance. I mentioned I did, even though that wasn’t true, and he pressed me for the name of the insurer. When I expressed my reluctance to divulge that information, he insisted it was merely a name. His insistence was quite off-putting, so I decided to end the call rather than continue with the conversation.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be with the NHS, but the number had a Redruth area code, and I’m nowhere near there, so I was pretty suspicious. He asked if he could speak to me by my first name, and I just said, “Mrs Surname here.” I’m always careful not to say yes in case they’re recording and misuse my voice. Then he asked if I’d had the COVID jab, which felt a bit off, so I said, “Who is this exactly? Where’re you calling from and why are you asking me stuff like that?” He just hung up after that.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from some Covid support line. He started asking if I'd had the jab and if I'd tested positive for anything. Then out of nowhere, he wanted to know if I had life insurance. I didn’t want to get into it, so I said I wouldn’t answer. He insisted he wasn't trying to sell me anything, just filling out a survey. When I stood my ground, he got proper rude, so I just ended the call.

I found it rather odd that if they were indeed from PHE, they should already have access to that information. In an unexpected turn, the agent rather rudely suggested I should perform a rather unsavoury act on myself, followed by a threat towards my family! Not quite what one would associate with a representative of Public Health England, if you ask me. It's safe to say this event can be comfortably tucked away into the 'lowest of the low' category.

I received a rather suspicious call from a woman who said she was with the public health team regarding COVID-19. She started off by asking me whether I’d got vaccinated and how I was feeling. However, it quickly took a dodgy turn when she inquired about my life insurance details, including the name of my provider. I received a phone call from someone purporting to be 'Derek' from what he said was the Covid Healthcare Department. Oddly enough, I find it hard to believe that an official department would operate from a private line in Redruth! The background was quite noisy, suggesting he was busy ringing up others as well. He greeted me using my initials and inquired about my wellbeing. Being aware of such dubious calls, I decided not to engage much further and hung up immediately when he probed about my vaccination status. I've also taken the precaution of blocking that number.

Just got a call from +441209809237, sounds like it’s from Redruth. They were pretending to be a health group which is so wrong. I’m actually in hospital with terminal cancer, and since my diagnosis got worse, I’ve been bombarded by all sorts of dodgy scams - life insurance offers, death plans and all kinds of awful people trying to take advantage of me. It’s really horrible how they target vulnerable folks like me.
