Some bloke rang me up speaking terrible English with a strong Indian/Asian accent, firing off loads of questions about Vivid, vaccines, and stuff like life and medical insurance. He was pretty pushy and seemed like he was trying to scare me into handing over personal details. I just ignored him mostly and told him nicely, “None of your business, mate. Buzz off!”

They started off talking about side effects from the covid jab, then suddenly wanted to know if I had a certificate. I mean, why would they ask that when you can just check it easily on the NHS app or the covid pass? Seemed dodgy to me, so I just kept my details to myself. Better safe than sorry.

Got a call from a Redruth number, the person on the line had a strong foreign accent and spoke hardly any English. They claimed to be calling for the ‘Covid 19 team’, which sounded totally dodgy to me. I just ended the call straight away. I can see how this could really scare more trusting or vulnerable people though. Proper dodgy behaviour.

They kept saying it was for some kind of public welfare thing, collecting info for the government or something. Got quite sharp with me when I hesitated to give out my details. Also, kept asking loads of questions about my life and health insurance. In the end, I just ended the call since they couldn’t really explain why they needed the info, other than saying it was mandatory.

My mate got a call claiming it was an official Covid vaccine follow-up, but it quickly turned into a pitch for some private health insurance. When he asked them to take his number off their list, the caller got quite aggressive and started shouting. He kept his cool and mentioned the whole 'Treating Customers Fairly' rule that legit UK companies stick to, which made the guy swear at him, even called him a 'bloody idiot' before hanging up. Pretty sure that’s the last time they’ll be ringing him.

Some bloke called me up being really aggressive about some debts I supposedly owe. I told him straight I don’t owe anything and asked how he even got my info. He had my name completely wrong and when I refused to give it, he started cussing and threatening me, saying he knew where I lived and would send people round to rough me up if I didn’t pay right away. I just went with it, said I’m not fond of my real name and asked for his address instead. Then he replied that he’d be coming for me while I sleep 😱😱😱 Seriously, what even was that?

Sounds like one of them call centre scams. They said they were from the NHS asking me about Covid vaccines. I cut them off straight away and said it didn’t sound legit. After that, the person got really rude and told me to hang up and stop wasting their time. I shot back with “remove me from your list then, don’t waste my time either.” They hung up on me with no pleasantries. Best advice: don’t answer or share any details. Block the number for safety. Just looking out for everyone here x
