I received a call from a chap with a foreign accent, rattling on about a car accident I never experienced. He claimed to be a representative for insurance, but it was as plain as day he wasn’t genuine. Just another con artist trying his luck!

I received a phone call inquiring about a gentleman's name that isn’t mine. Oddly enough, I've been receiving messages and calls from Lowells debt collectors for that very same name. Seems that's where this scam artist got hold of my number! When I probed them further, they claimed to be a COVID helpline. However, upon informing them that the number did not belong to "James," who had a rather thick Asian accent, things turned a bit nasty. I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine and then promptly ended the call.

They kept saying they’re from some Public welfare programme - this is the third call I’ve had. When I tried to get more details, they just dodged the questions. They asked me stuff about side effects from the vaccine and stuff about my life insurance and personal liability, but wouldn’t say who they’re with. When I pushed back they got all irritable and insisted they needed those answers. Since I was busy at work, I just ended the call. Seeing other people’s posts here really made me glad I didn’t spill any info.
