Someone said they were from the telephone preference service but I’m not convinced. I mean, how could they even get my name unless they hacked into the TPS records? They keep ringing me back from loads of different numbers. Yesterday’s call came from one number, then today they used 01778600025. Surely the TPS should be able to do something about this!

They've rung me around six times today. I tried blocking the number, but somehow they still left a message on my answerphone the last time. Bit worrying, really - figured once blocked, it would've stopped completely.

I got a bunch of calls in under an hour, each one saying they were from "Telephone Preference Management" and asking if I'd had any telemarketing calls. The voices got more and more pushy and annoying with every ring. I asked one bloke where he was calling from - he said "west London", but the area code was obviously Boston. I've gone ahead and blocked that number now. I’m pretty firm when it comes to dodgy calls, but it worries me how many people might just let themselves be intimidated by these lot.

My 87-year-old mum got calls from some dodgy people claiming to be from BT, saying they needed her bank info to ‘verify her identity’ so they could stop her nuisance calls. They must be linked to the number 01344232015, which kept ringing her non-stop about twelve times on Monday. I’ve also got in touch with BT and they confirmed it’s not them at all.

So, I got a call from some number I didn’t recognise and when they asked for my name, I gave it to them nicely, trying to be polite and all. The chap went on about something, must’ve been a telemarketer or sumthin’, but when I said “Earnest Haltwhistler Esq,” he sounded proper confused. Guess their list is outdated - probs still stuck with some old info from Boston or wherever. Anyway, I’ve blocked the number now, no more bothering me here.
