Got a call on my work phone from someone saying they were energy consultants from the government, asking about insulation in my loft. The weird thing is, I don't even have a loft at my place! Definitely just another energy-related spam call.

A caller purporting to be from an energy firm got in touch. They asserted that our loft insulation had yet to be inspected since it was first fitted. However, when I probed them about when it had been installed, they were unable to provide any specifics. I decided to end the conversation there.

He then wanted to know if I owned the place, and I told him I’m actually renting and about to be kicked out. The call just cut off right after that. Brilliant customer service these con artists show!

Just got a phone call, picked up and then suddenly it went dead from their side. Ended up blocking the number straight away. I’m on the TPS register, so they really ought not to be able to ring me! These lot are such a hassle! Makes me really worry about older folks or anyone who might not be able to handle this kind of bother - these firms clearly don’t care one bit, no matter what they claim!

I informed him rather firmly that I do not engage with cold callers or unsolicited spam. I’m on a private line and have registered with the Telephone Preference Service-so I do wonder how on earth they managed to get my number in the first place!

Brilliant - yet another number popping up from the Bournemouth area. Seems they're really on a roll, doesn’t it? A mere digit altered every few days, and suddenly, we're bombarded with calls about everything from loft insulation and dodgy roof linings to issues with driveways and those elusive government grants. Honestly, it might be less of a hassle if they just fessed up and asked for our bank details right off the bat to siphon off our cash! Come on, BT - can’t you put a stop to this madness? We all just want to carry on with our lives without these incessant interruptions.

Had a rather peculiar experience with a couple of calls. The first one on Monday was completely silent, as if someone was just listening in. Then today, at around 3 in the afternoon, I received another call. This time, it was a young chap on the other end. He introduced himself as my “local energy adviser” and presumed I was the homeowner. Curious, I asked him which company he represented, but before I could get any further, he simply hung up! What a strange encounter!
