It’s usually a guy calling, and there’s always a pause before he speaks. He’ll kick off with something like, “According to our info, you handle the bills at your place. I’m Paul or John, your local energy consultant.” Sometimes he’ll even suggest he knows what loft insulation you’ve got. When I asked him how he got that info about my home, he just cut me off! Feels like they were probably trying to sell insulation that most folks don’t actually need!

I had a feeling this was a dodgy call since it was from a 0120 number - always a sign of a scam. I answered right away and sure enough, some mug trying to sell me a medical alert pendant. He kept jabbering away but all I did was keep saying “No thanks” over and over till he finally got bored. Next time I’m gonna be more blunt and tell them to shove it. Seriously, don’t fall for it!
