It’s not an actual person, just a recorded message making it seem like you’re chatting with someone. Best thing to do? Hang up straight away, don’t bother sharing any of your details. They ring from loads of numbers that look alike as well.

Heads up - this is a total energy rip-off. They ring you multiple times daily, switching up the phone number by tweaking the last three digits. You block one number, then another very similar one calls right after, tricking you into thinking it’s someone new. This annoying cycle keeps happening for days on end. Be careful!

Just got a call from 01202143201, which looks a lot like some other dodgy numbers starting with 01202 that I've been getting lately. Didn’t leave a voicemail or anything. I’ve read elsewhere that these are probably scams as well. Definitely seems fishy.

they used this number today. Yesterday it was 01202143177, the day before 01202143169, and the day before that 01202143161. some energy advisor called chris claiming he was working in the area and offering a free loft insulation check. I spoke to him yesterday and said I wasn’t interested, but when he rang again today I warned him I’d report him for harassment if he called once more. he ended up hanging up on me. don’t be fooled by how friendly they sound. this isn’t something that should happen if they ever get inside your house.

this number has been ringing me loads lately, and most times i let it go to voicemail - never get a message though, which screams scam to me. they just rang once more and this time i answered before checking who it was. some lad called himself "alex" from a place called the solar centre, sounded pushy and quite loud. i just told him “no thanks” and ended the call pretty quick. definitely dodgy. scams like these are everywhere now. be careful out there, everyone.

Same here, I got a call about loft insulation from a guy who said his name was Chris, though who knows if that's true. He rang me once on Wednesday, then twice yesterday, and again today. When I asked which firm he was with, he said it was an insulation company somewhere in South London and that he was helping out homes around our postcode. I thought I'd test him and asked, "what's our postcode again?" and bam, he just cut the call straight away. Very dodgy if you ask me.

Guess it explains the fancy big house he’s got, always ripping folks off. At least we now know exactly where this conman is living!
