Got a call from someone saying they were my local energy advisor. Seemed a bit off, like a sales pitch in disguise. Definitely not what I expected when I picked up!

Some bloke rang claiming he was my "local energy advisor," but I soon found out he was calling from about 80 miles away! When I asked how he knew I had a loft (which I don’t), he just ended the call. This has happened like three times now, each time from different numbers starting with 01202 143 but the last three digits keep changing. Feels more like a pest or maybe even a scammer trying to dodge call blocking. Proper frustrating!

after a bit of digging, i found out my guess about the missed call was right! big thanks to ukphoneinfo[###] for the info: "01202 is the code for bournemouth and nearby places. this particular number doesn’t fall into any valid range. if you got a ring from this one, it’s probably fake and they’re pretending to be someone else. according to ofcom, numbers beginning with 01202143 aren’t assigned to anyone."

Those insulation con artists just don't give up! It's always some bloke named Alex ringing, but the phone numbers and area codes switch around all the time since they expect to be blocked. The TPS clearly can't keep up with them. They’re proper nuisances, and honestly, I wonder if their mums are chuffed with what they do.

Got two calls off this number today. The first one was just silence, no one said a thing. On the second, I picked up and the bloke said he was Chris from the local energy company. But as soon as I brought up that they’d called me before from the same number, they hung up straight away!

This number has called me loads of times today, like at least six, and they've called me lots before too. I only picked up one call, and it was a young guy saying he was some sort of energy specialist. I told him I wasn’t interested and that was that.
