Some bloke named Alex rang me up claiming he worked for some kind of emergency medical alert service and that I qualified for a free device. When I asked him to prove who he was, he just kept cutting me off, going on about how I might be at risk if an emergency struck. I wasn’t fooled, but I reckon a lot of elderly or vulnerable folks might get scared and end up giving him whatever info he wants.

In the last fortnight, we've been bombarded with five separate calls from varying digits starting with 01202-143-xxx. Specifically, the endings have been -277, -212, -197, -203, and -165. A rather pushy individual who introduces himself as Tom has, on two occasions, insisted rather forcefully that the insulation we've put in our attic is somehow harming our home.

So it turns out that the number linked to Chris, Tom, Craig, or Simon belongs to one Stuart David Wright. This chap is registered at 21a Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF. Well, there you have it - we’ve pin-pointed the residence of this charlatan! It’s hardly surprising he lives in such a grand abode; must be raking in the dosh with all the trickery he pulls!

It's Chris ringing me up yet again, even after I've told him loads of times to stop calling. He claims to be an energy advisor for my area. When I asked him who his employer was, he said something like "The Green Energy Centre". Then, when I tried to get their address, he just hung up on me. Can't find any info about that company anywhere on the internet.

On the 1st of November, around half past five in the evening, I got several calls from someone called Chris claiming to be from a loft insulation replacement company. I told him straight away we’re registered with the TPS, but he kept ringing. The number that showed up was 01202 143 062. Oddly enough, the call just cut off when I mentioned I was under 50. Really strange behaviour.

Had a call from a bloke claiming to be with Green EcoCentre about loft insulation. First off, he said my existing insulation would lead to condensation, then switched to saying I hardly have any insulation at all. There were loads of awkward silences on their side. Got a call from 01202143062, a bloke claiming to be with something like Eco Green Insulation. He was on about doing a loft survey, saying it’s important to have it checked every three years if the loft’s more than 20 years old to avoid issues like damp and mould. He also brought up government grants and asked if I was between 50-84 or over 85. I told him I don’t go for random calls like this, but he insisted his manager would ring me back to arrange a date for the survey. Feels a bit dodgy, like a possible scam to me.
