Like a few others here, I’ve been getting calls all day from this number, or one almost the same. Usually, they just cut off as soon as I say 'Hello'. The last one was from some bloke named James. He went on about some nonsense with loft insulation causing damp and mould, saying they did site visits and I’m one of the last people to hear from them in my area. I asked him 'What area is that?', and he just hung up straight away. Definitely a dodgy scam. Best to ignore it.

Someone rang me claiming to be from a government list, but when I asked where they got my phone number, they just said "the registry." When I tried to get more details, the person hung up on me. Some polite sounding bloke with an English accent said he was my neighbourhood “green energy advisor”. I asked him exactly who he was calling and who he wanted to talk with. Then, out of the blue, he just ended the call - seemed like a total dodger to me. I always thought cold calling folks for marketing was against the rules, especially since we’re on the Telephone Preference Service list.

A guy called saying he was an energy advisor for my area and reckoned the insulation in my loft was making condensation. He said he could send someone over to have a look, but then he asked if I was aged between 65-80 or over 80. When I told him I wasn’t, he just ended the call.
