4 yearsHad a woman ring me from this number, 0115 778 6913, saying she needed to update the director’s info so he could continue getting some magazines. When I asked what mags she meant, she wouldn’t say a word, just going in circles. Felt like she was just trying to get some personal info. I told her straight that he’s not interested and asked her to take us off their list, citing GDPR rights. Pretty sure she either won’t bother or hasn’t a clue about data protection, but I gave it a go anyway.4 yearsGot calls from about six different numbers today, this one included. My block list's actually bigger than my phone book now. That's why I just don't pick up when it's someone I don't know. If they leave a message, then maybe I'll ring back at some point.4 yearsGot a call from an Asian guy, sounded like he was working from a call centre or summat. He kept asking if I’d got both my covid jabs, whether I had life insurance and who I was with. While still talking to him, I looked up the number and saw loads of similar comments about it being dodgy. Told him straight I wasn’t interested and called him a scammer. Then, out of nowhere, he just hung up!4 yearsJust had a right dodgy phone call from this number a mere ten minutes ago. A rather young woman on the line was insisting she was representing HMRC, claiming there’s a tax fraud issue involving me. She even had the audacity to threaten me with an arrest warrant if I didn’t play along. Absolutely outrageous! Watch out, everyone; this person is definitely trying to pull a fast one!HMRC4 yearsGot a call from some bloke with an Asian accent who claimed he was ringing on behalf of the NHS about Covid jabs. I told him I'd check with someone else and then hung up. Went ahead and blocked the number straight away.NHS4 yearsI don’t normally pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, but this time I thought why not, might be amusing. An Indian-accented lady asked if my name was a certain thing. I caught the last name right but got the first name mixed up thanks to her accent. When I worked out what she’d said, she was adamant that was my name, even though I kept saying it wasn’t. She refused to explain why she was calling, then suddenly said she must’ve dialled wrong and just hung up. Makes me wonder how on earth they manage to match names (nearly spot on) to phone numbers like that!4 yearsGot a call from a woman claiming to be from credit control, asking about how much debt I had. She was going on about consolidating everything into a single payment each month and mentioned legal support as well. I told her I wasn’t able to chat and ended the call.4 yearsThey've been ringing non stop for the last couple of days, like every hour or so. I haven't picked up once and now I'm just gonna block the number.4 yearsI got a call from a woman with a really clear accent who started chatting about my children, trying to persuade me to buy life insurance.4 yearsThe call came through as Swansea, and even though I didn’t know the number, I’d just dealt with someone from Swansea recently so figured I’d answer out of politeness. The person on the line sounded really serious and knew my first name, but got my surname wrong. When I asked who he was, he just hung up straight away.Swansea4 yearsReceived a call from this number saying they were from HMRC. They were accusing me of some fraud and threatened that I'd get an arrest warrant if I didn’t follow their instructions. Really scary stuff.HMRC4 yearsI've been receiving calls every single day from various numbers, all inquiring about a chap named Richard Bassett, who, I can assure you, is not me. Today, the caller claimed they were from Citizens Advice and wanted to discuss some alleged debts. The moment I expressed my doubts about their legitimacy, they promptly ended the call. It's quite ridiculous, isn’t it? Is there any action being taken against these nuisance callers, or will I have to take matters into my own hands and pay them a visit? Enough is enough! Can someone please put a stop to this madness?Richard BassettCitizens AdviceSubmit Your Own Report (0115 778 9613)
