Got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming to be from the NHS. He said he wanted to check if I’d got a letter from my GP about my covid jabs, then suddenly started asking about Life Insurance, saying the Government was helping out with it. Complete rubbish, I told him the NHS wouldn’t do that but he kept saying it wasn’t a scam. Tried calling the number back and it’s not even recognised. Pretty obvious scam to me!

Said they were calling from the Covid Helpdesk. Sounded quite polite. Asked if I'd had the vaccine, if I got any side effects, if I had a vaccination certificate, if I ever caught Covid, and whether I’d got Life Insurance because of Covid. They didn’t try to push any products or ask weird questions not related to Covid, so I’m not sure what the scam was, but it just didn’t feel right.

I encountered a rather irate individual claiming to represent a business. The caller appeared to be of Asian descent but might've been part of a larger team. He was incredibly short-tempered, addressing me by my first name right away and pretending he was from a legitimate company. The caller was rather elusive and didn’t introduce himself when I picked up. Instead, he used my first name right away, which felt a bit strange. He was quite vague about which company he represented. When I inquired about who he was trying to reach, he just repeated my first name again. When I pressed for the reason behind his call, he abruptly hung up. This has happened three times in the last month - quite unsettling, if you ask me!

SCAM ALERT! Make sure to report every scam call or text straight to the police fraud website. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and head over to ‘police.uk’. Find the page about ‘reporting phishing attempts’ and make sure you read all the info there. Then put in the details of the scam, including any URLs or links you’ve got. You don’t have to sign up or give personal info unless you’ve actually lost money. The only way the police can track these crooks is if we all report each attempt we get.
