Got calls from +441157180952 and +441159673617 claiming to be from EON. They told me I had to click a link to sort out my bill. When I mentioned I already pay by standing order using a paper bill, they insisted I had to set up a direct debit via the link. No chance I clicked on anything like that.

Someone called saying they were from E.ON Next. They’d phoned me once before but I just ended the call. Since I’m actually with E.ON and she even knew the last three digits of my account number, I wonder how they got that info? Right away, she wanted me to give my full name and address. I told her I wasn’t happy giving out personal details on the phone and she acted like I was being strange! 😂 I’m not sure if it was really E.ON though, since they usually don’t call and only send letters.

She kept wanting me to answer security questions, but I just said no way and didn’t share any personal stuff. After that, the call ended pretty quick. Honestly, just say no and hang up!

When I asked them to shoot me an email for verification-something they typically do without any fuss-the woman on the line sighed and requested that I 'confirm my email' first. Quite puzzling, I must say! I pointed out the absurdity of that, and then, poof-she hung up! Just a heads up for everyone! 👍🏻

Got three calls from people claiming to be Eon.next, which was strange since I’d only just emailed them a few hours earlier about a problem with my account, so I was sort of waiting for them to ring. The callers all had Indian accents and rang both my landline and my mobile. My advice? Just hang up straight away and if you need to contact Eon.next, don’t use the phone you answered these calls on - try another number instead.

What an absolutely unsettling experience this turned out to be! Some chap rang my mum, claiming to be a debt collector, and insisted she urge me to clear my supposed debts post haste. The trouble is, I've never owed anyone a penny! My poor mum nearly forked out her own hard-earned cash because he was so persuasive. Fortunately, I returned home just in time from basketball practice and managed to persuade her that it was nothing more than a dodgy scam. What a relief we dodged that bullet!
