I can assure you, the claim that they're E- on Next is far from the truth. I've just settled my electricity bill and my account is all clear! It's a bit shady how they already have your name, so exercise caution. I highly recommend steering clear of any calls from Nottingham unless you're absolutely certain of who's on the other end. It's appalling to think that some folks might get duped by such trickery.

I answered the call and they sounded pretty believable at first. But once I said I wasn’t comfortable sharing my info and told them I’d heard about loads of scams from people pretending to be Eon Next, they just cut me off straight away. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

Got a call today from someone saying they were with Eon Next, saying they wanted to confirm my account details were correct. I’ve noticed a few calls over the last few days, all from numbers starting with Nottingham. I looked them up and Eon Next is actually based in Coventry. The numbers I’ve seen are +44 115 718 0942, +44 115 718 0932, and +44 115 718 0953. All the callers had strong foreign accents and didn’t seem to speak very well. Some folks I know just hang up straight away on these.

I can confirm that this was indeed a fraudulent call. A woman on the other end claimed to be representing Eon, but after reaching out to Eon directly for clarification, they assured me that no one had attempted to contact me from their side.

Got a call from a weird foreign-looking number, they said they were from EON Next - which I actually use - but then the line just dropped halfway through, very strange. Not sure if EON has hired outside people to chase payments or if this is some kind of trick. When unsure, best to stick with the app, online banking or ring their official number. Their prices for “green” power are nuts and linked to gas costs, so it’s hard to tell legit calls from dodgy ones these days.
