Someone said they were calling from EE and tried to tempt me with a free upgrade to the newest iPhone because my credit was supposedly great. I told them I already have the latest model. A couple comments down explain ways to help reduce these scams and why simply blocking numbers isn’t always effective. Reporting takes a bit of time but no more than searching and posting here. We won’t see results overnight, but right now the police don’t fully grasp how widespread this problem is, so they can’t properly direct resources. Your MP’s reaction might be (umm) ‘curious’, but unless everyone receiving these calls and messages starts taking responsibility, complaining to their MP, and reporting every scam, these annoying calls and texts will carry on non-stop.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a mobile network that WORKS WITH ALL providers and offering me an iPhone 13 for £35 a month. Pretended to be O2 promising a great discount, and I can’t believe I fell for it like a right numpty! They managed to change my login details and even put through an order for an iPhone.
