I got a call from 0012012557722 around 7:59 pm UK time. When I tried to ask what kind of scam they were running, the person on the other end got really rude. They rang me back four more times and left some really nasty messages on my voicemail.

So, this number, 0012076591709, is from the US. They called me around 9.17pm and kept ringing about six or seven times before just stopping. Didn’t leave any voicemail or anything. Pretty clear it’s some sort of scam.

It seems like these scammers are quite cunning. They often hold off on speaking until they hear you greet them, as that confirms you’re indeed a live person, ready for their dodgy spiel. If you keep mum, though, they tend to just sit there in the void with nothing to say.
