They mentioned they could only help rectify the so-called errors once the warranty was renewed. Naturally, they then requested my card details. It struck me as a classic scam, but I'd already granted them access to my laptop, so now I've got to have it thoroughly examined for any lingering issues.11 yearsI've had the same caller ringing me a couple of times now, an Asian woman who seemed quite persistent. I pretended to be completely clueless about anything technical, feigning that I didn’t even recognise the bits on my keyboard and struggled to grasp her instructions. So, I turned it back on her, requesting that she send me proper instructions in the post along with arranging a follow-up chat by mail. She insisted that I turn on my computer so she could assist in fixing the problem. I promptly hung up, clearly not willing to be duped by such nonsense.
