I recently received a phone call from a particular number claiming to be from Telus Security. They informed me that I was listed as an emergency contact for my parents' residence and had knowledge of my father's name and our home address. This situation is very alarming!

I didn't pick up the call because I didn't recognize the number. However, they did leave a message about a problem with the alarm system at my mother's house. Surprisingly, they mentioned her correct name and address.
They also tried calling my father, but he missed the call too.
Concerned, my mum contacted her security system provider to verify the call. They confirmed that it was indeed a scam.
It's quite unsettling how these scammers were able to obtain all our details. We should all stay cautious out there.

Today at 4:38 pm, I received a call with an automated message regarding an alarm problem at a property that I am not associated with. I missed the call, but a voicemail was left.

Over the past three days, I have received a call from the same number at the exact same time every morning. However, each time I answer the call, the caller remains silent before eventually hanging up.

After reviewing the number once again, it seems that complaining about calls from this specific number might be a misunderstanding. This particular number is associated with the Protectron Alarm Company or perhaps was used by them in the past. The Protectron Alarm Company was purchased by ADT. To clarify the situation, I just contacted ADT Alarm Company at 1(855)497-4586. They informed me that their systems are currently functioning properly and the calls were intended to alert me about a low battery in my system. ADT has assured me that they will replace the battery free of charge. It appears that there is indeed a legitimate low battery alert on my monitoring panel. It is important to understand that alarm companies have a responsibility to call, even if it means waking you up, in order to protect your security if there is any possibility of a compromise in your alarm system.

At 10:30 in the evening, they phoned us, enquiring if we were the owners of a specific property. Curiously, they did not inquire about our names or the identities of our tenants. Disconcerted, we promptly ended the call. Almost immediately after, they rang us again, but this time we chose not to answer. Interestingly, a similar incident occurred a few weeks prior, albeit at an earlier hour of the evening.
