Just got a ring from this number claiming to be from Telus Security. They said I was an emergency contact for my parents’ place and even had my dad’s name and my own address. Honestly, that was pretty terrifying!

They rang my dad too, but he didn’t pick up either.
Mum contacted the real security company and was told the call was a con.

Got a call just after 4.30 this afternoon from a recorded voice about some alarm problem at a property I’m not connected to. I didn’t answer, but they left a voicemail anyway.

Had another look at this number before getting worried. Turns out it might not be some dodgy spam call after all. This number seems to have ties to Protectron Alarm Company, which ADT took over some time ago. Gave ADT a ring on 1(855)497-4586 just now and they told me their system was trying to warn me about a low battery in my alarm setup - they're happy to sort out a replacement free of charge. I checked my alarm panel and sure enough, the low battery alert was showing. If anything, you can't blame alarm firms for ringing late at night - that’s exactly when you'd want to be warned if your system isn’t working right!

At about 10:30 at night, they rang up asking if we owned a particular property. They never bothered to ask for our names or who lived there. We just put the phone down. Then they rang again straight away but we ignored it. This had actually happened a few weeks earlier too, but that was a bit earlier in the evening.

Later, they left this weird message about "an operator wanting to talk to me about a property I might be linked to" or something like that. Honestly, regardless of who this is, anyone who calls at such a ridiculous hour is just downright disrespectful! Proper scumbags if you ask me.
