I got a call from them, and they left a voicemail mentioning both my full name and the nickname I go by. They claimed it was from the "clerk’s office" but never actually said who they were. The message said something about it being urgent and that someone would be at my place between 8am and noon to get my signature. Problem is, I work 50 miles away, so that’s not happening. Still, I made sure my husband, who’s a cop, stayed behind to handle whatever these legal papers might be.

Somebody phoned my brother on the other side of the country, trying to reach me without knowing his new digits. They wouldn't say what it was regarding at all. I looked up the number online and pretty much everything says it’s a scam.
