I’ve been getting loads of calls from 60183, and they’re definitely scammers. Never answer or believe anyone saying they’re from Barclays fraud dept. If you think your account’s been compromised, ring the bank yourself straight away. These fraudsters can steal loads of money. Never ever open a temporary account for anyone over the phone! Stay safe out there.

The number 60183 is definitely from Barclays. I got a text from them asking to confirm a payment I recently made, which I did. Unfortunately, I couldn’t reply because my network blocks premium rate numbers, so the confirmation never got through. Really poor from Barclays, honestly. They need to sort this out properly.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Barclays saying I had to update my account info. Thing is, I’ve never even had an account with them. Definitely a scam, watch out!

definitely a scam! got the exact same text as the one posted earlier in this thread about nationwide, even with the exact sum of £893.90. quite suspicious if you ask me.

Got a text from 60183 claiming to be Nationwide. It said something about a payment going out to PayPal for £893.90 and that it needs to be verified. They asked me to ring 03330120020 straight away. Pretty sure it’s a scam and definitely not from Nationwide.

Got a call sayin there was some “unusual activity” on my HSBC account and they told me to ring a different number. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

tried to send a payment through what looked like a legit barclays number, but my phone company blocked me from replying to it! typical barclays messing about with their system.

Got a text saying it was from Barclays, number was 03300245937 or something like that. They said it was urgent and my account had some restrictions. Decided to check if the number was legit using Barclays official phone checker, and it turns out it’s not a real Barclays contact. Definitely a fake message, watch out for it!

Keeps sending me texts asking if I confirmed an online payment of £792.68 to Amazon through Barclays. They want me to reply with ‘Y’ if it’s okay, or call 03330124017 if not. Looks like a total scam to me, avoid it!
