The number +236 2278 2460 from the Central African Republic keeps changing the last 4 digits with every call. Yesterday I got around 3 calls, then 13 through the night, and 6 again this morning. It’s really annoying and feels like harassment. They keep calling my wife’s phone. We’ve added the number to the block list, but it still manages to ring once before getting cut off! So frustrating! Honestly, take the warnings on here seriously and DO NOT call back if you see this number.

During the night I kept getting loads of missed calls from numbers starting with +263. Thankfully, my phone was on silent so it didn’t bother me much. I saw a comment on this site from someone else who suggested blocking all +236 numbers through the call settings. I gave it a go by adding +236 to the block list, fingers crossed it stops these annoying calls now.

This number, along with a bunch of others starting with +, kept ringing all night from about 8pm onwards. I tried blocking every one that called, but they just kept coming from slightly different numbers. Eventually, I switched my phone off around 2am. When I powered it back up, I found 9 missed calls waiting. Most of these calls seem to be coming from places like the Central African Republic or Portugal. Just today at 10:15am, I got a ring from +236 2189 1409. My advice? Don’t bother calling them back!

I’ve been getting calls from +236 2278 2460, from the Central African Republic, but the last four digits keep switching up each time. Yesterday alone, I had three, then 13 during the night, and six more early this morning. It’s honestly harassment at this point and something really should be done about it. These calls are all ringing on my wife’s mobile. Even though we’ve blocked the number series, each call still rings once before the block kicks in and stops it! It’s really frustrating! Seriously, please don’t bother calling back these numbers like some suggest here.

Last night, just after midnight, I received a call from +23622782435 so I decided to block it. But then, at about 2am, another call came from +23622782432, which I also blocked. By 3am, yet another number from +23622782439 called me. After that, I decided to block the entire +236 prefix so no more calls from the Central African Republic could get through. Checking my blocked calls this morning, I saw there were 37 attempts from those three numbers between midnight and 4am. Seriously, what’s goin on?! 😱 I'm really glad I blocked that prefix or else I’d have had zero sleep!

Between half past midnight and 2:30 in the morning, loads of different numbers kept calling me - about 12 missed calls in total. Every time I blocked one, another popped up ringing me. They always hung up just before I could pick up, hoping I'd ring them back. Seriously, don’t bother calling back!

Got a call late at night from some dodgy number, and a bunch of others too. They ring once and just hang up straight away. Seems like they’re trying to trap you into ringing back so they can charge you loads. Definitely don’t ring them back!

Got calls from +236 2278 2435, +236 2278 2434, and +236 2278 2439 late at night around 00:09, 00:59, and 01:46. The first time I actually heard it, but the other two I was asleep and just woke up to my phone buzzing. They kept ringing but nobody spoke when I answered. Pretty sure it’s dodgy, looks like a scam. The numbers are from Central African Republic. Funny thing is, I accidentally dialled one of those numbers this morning while trying to check it out but hung up quickly before it even rang.

So this wangiri scam thing is when someone rings you, then just cuts off straight away, trying to make you ring back. don't fall for it! if you call back, they’ll hit you with expensive charges. the +236 code belongs to the Central African Republic, just so you know.

Like many others have mentioned, it’s pretty risky! These fraudsters just want your bank info by claiming you’ve bagged a prize. It’s a classic scam, but somehow it still fools folks. This is actually the first time I’ve got a call from c.a.r., which was a bit surprising!

over the past couple of days ive gotten like 8 calls from phone numbers starting with 236 2278 but the last few digits always change, stuff like 236 2278 24444 or 236 2278 2222. the phone rings briefly then stops, seems fishy to me, i reckon it might be some kind of scam.
