I recently received a notification from Microsoft informing me that my computer had been blocked, and stressing the need for me to get in touch immediately to unlock my account. It appeared quite genuine, and the entire interaction took place on my computer. Upon calling the provided number, however, I found their behaviour rather suspicious and unprofessional, not at all what I would expect from Microsoft. The confirmation that it was indeed a scam came when, after I hung up, the scammer called me back from a number prefixed with 1844. It is important to remain cautious as these scammers seem to be becoming increasingly clever in their tactics.

I'm unsure how they obtained my phone number, but they claimed to be from the Bank of America. They insisted that I call immediately, as someone was attempting to withdraw funds from my account. They asked for my name and social security number, but I promptly scolded them and ended the call.

I received phone calls from two different numbers: 1844 ### and ### ### ### (the local area code in Canada). They both left a message informing me that my Social Insurance number had been blocked. I decided to hang up on both calls, and what's interesting is that they occurred only minutes apart from each other.

I've been receiving calls from them for weeks now, and it's become almost a daily occurrence. Usually, they ring once and then leave a very short voicemail that lasts only a few seconds. According to my caller ID, the calls are coming from OneMain. The person on the other end always mentions debt collection but never provides any specific details. Interestingly enough, it seems to be the same woman every time. They insist that I call them back during specific hours but never address me by name. Today was the first time the lady mentioned her name, although she said it quite hastily. I've checked all three credit bureaus and can confirm that I have no outstanding debts. This seems like some kind of fraudulent activity or perhaps a scam. If they truly knew who they were calling or who I was, they would use my name. Consequently, it appears that they are attempting to phish for personal information.

The phone call was made from a number connecting to my open account to inform me about a charge for services on my devices. The message advised me to call back the same number, which was 1844-###-###. Naturally, I did not respond to the message. This is the second call of its kind today, with the same message being relayed.

On the 18th of April 1844, I received a phone call from a number. The person on the other end claimed to be an agent from the IRS. They informed me that there was an issue with my tax papers and requested me to call them back. In case I couldn't reach out to him, he advised me to have my lawyer contact him on his personal number. It struck me that this individual had a foreign accent. It is worth noting that the IRS usually communicates through letters rather than making lengthy phone calls. These scammers are truly foolish!
