I just received my most recent phone bill and noticed a peculiar charge for a call to 118119 dated 3rd February. To my knowledge, I never placed that call, yet I'm being billed roughly £4 for it. Quite baffling, really!

Once more, I find myself here with a wee query! I must say, your sense of humour has tickled me quite a bit. Perhaps it’s just the Scottish spirit in me that revels in your jests (ten-ten/ten-eleven, right?)! Love it, keep it coming!

On the evening of 2nd October 2019, at approximately 20:56, I received a call from the number 118119 that lasted a mere 14 seconds and resulted in a charge of £1.682p. I can assure you, we certainly did not initiate that call. Upon further investigation, I've discovered that others have encountered a similar scam. It leaves me wondering what’s going on here. I intend to reach out to OFGEM to see if they can provide any clarification on this troubling situation. Best, John K.

On the 17th of January, 2019, my wife mistakenly dialled 118110 and ended up chatting for a minute and a half, resulting in a hefty charge of £13.42 being added to our bill. Is there any way we can raise a complaint about this? Best, [email protected]

I can't argue that a call was indeed placed from my P.O. landline to 118119, but I firmly believe I shouldn’t be held accountable. What I can't wrap my head around is why a call lasting just 1 minute and 18 seconds has racked up a staggering £5.47 charge? My monthly plan, which costs £14, covers all calls to any network, including mobiles, regardless of the time. It's simply baffling!

I have no issue acknowledging that a call was indeed placed from my P.O. landline to 118119, but I certainly don’t see myself as liable for it. What really baffles me is how a mere one minute and eighteen seconds could set me back a staggering £5.47! My monthly plan of £14 conveniently covers calls to any network, including all mobile numbers, at any time. So, why the hefty charge for this particular call?

Just got billed £4.17 for a call that lasted barely 3 seconds. Steer clear of this number!

On the 16th September, I contacted 118119 in search of a phone number but was utterly unable to retrieve the information. My call lasted a mere 39 seconds, yet to my shock, I was charged an extortionate £5.62. I find this fee entirely unacceptable and will be escalating my complaint to the Telephone Regulator. As a pensioner, my phone is crucial for my wellbeing, and such astronomically high costs for basic services are simply intolerable. If I ever need a number again, I will absolutely avoid using this service. I sincerely hope BT considers reinstating their previous directory enquiries service, which we accessed without incurring any fees. I kindly request that you review this outrageous charge and consider a refund, whether partial or in full.

I recently got off the phone with EE, and they informed me that I had somehow called 118119, as well as another number, 08719767247, in December. Apparently, that call lasted for a whopping two hours and racked up a bill of £29! The thing is, nobody in my household made those calls. I took a moment to look both numbers up online, and lo and behold, they’re linked to something called "fly trap." It’s bewildering to think that receiving a nuisance call could somehow end up costing me money like this. I’m making another call to EE now to see if they can sort this mess out.
