Received my phone bill for December 2009, and I noticed this peculiar number, 0871 200 5033. According to the records, we supposedly called it fifteen times on the 14th of December, and then again every day from the 15th to the 30th-including a double call on the 27th. Altogether, that's a whopping 32 calls! I’ve no idea who this number belongs to and since I'm the sole user of the phone, I’m baffled as to why it's showing up on my bill. I've started looking into this with my phone provider.

Give your alarm company a bell and see if they can switch it over to a freephone number-0800 would do nicely. Just a heads-up, they will add an extra £3 a month for that service. Still, it’s a better deal than what I was paying before; my old 0871 number was costing me a whopping £11 monthly.

I've noticed this as well, and it consistently happens at the same hour every evening, coming to roughly 9 pence every time.

Anne, I'd wager that your alarm was set up on the 14th of December, wasn't it? Having it ring fifteen times in a single day feels like a bit of a trial run by the technician, if you ask me. After that, it appears to be just the daily ding from then on, right?

I've been receiving this call far too frequently, and it always seems to come in at the same hour every evening. It sets me back around 9 pence each time!
