Spoke to BT today and they said this number is the one ADT Alarms currently uses for their monitored security setups. Unfortunately, it looks like there's no way to stop the system's main control box, which is inside the customer's home, from ringing this number automatically every day.

Got my BT statement and it showed a whopping £521 charge. I hardly ever make calls, so I looked into it and saw that I’d been billed every 6 seconds for the number 08712005020, starting from last month. Honestly, I’ve no clue what that number even is. Luckily, a kind woman at BT was really good and is now helping me get this sorted out.

Got 8 calls from 08712005020 today. Strangely, my BT bill lists two calls to that number at exactly the same time. Every single call was super short, just 6 seconds each. Pretty odd if you ask me.

So this month Sky slapped me with a bill for over 280 calls to this same number from my landline. Every single call lasted about 7 seconds and they happened all day, even when I wasn’t home. I was actually away on holiday recently, so there’s no way I made those calls. The last bill was over £33, and now Sky’s sending someone round to check the line, but I doubt it’ll solve anything. Did a bit of digging online and found that this number’s been flagged before by both Sky and TalkTalk customers, so it’s clear someone’s trying to rip us off. We've recently received a bill from TalkTalk indicating that we've made 342 calls to this number, each lasting about seven minutes, racking up a total charge of £55.00. When we dialled the number, we encountered a sound akin to a router connecting or something like a fax machine. Is there anyone who can shed some light on this situation? I've just received a TalkTalk bill, and it’s showing an astonishing 342 calls made to this number, each lasting around seven minutes, which has racked up a hefty £55 charge!
