I’m from Portugal and my dad’s phone got a call from +44 845 528 0097. They were asking for me and then suddenly checked if anyone there spoke English. Weirdly enough, they already knew my first and last name.

He knew my name right away and asked if I could answer a few quick questions, said it’d only take about half a minute or so.

Got a call from some guy saying he needed 30 seconds for a quick survey. He mentioned he was ringing for BNG or maybe BMG, can’t really remember, and said he got my number from a third party linked to some service I supposedly signed up for. Problem is, I’m pretty sure I never actually agreed to anything like that, so maybe it was buried somewhere in the small print of something I use.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Biometrics Management Group. They were digging up information about me from way back before 1995! Honestly, the name alone sounds like they're after heaps of personal details to sort you into categories and then push you into buying stuff or signing up for things you’d never want. It’s a kind of mind game, really creepy. At worst, they’re fishing for your private info to hand it over to others, which is seriously risky. Maybe I’m just cautious, but that means I’m less likely to fall for their tricks, even if they’re out there trying!

Beware of this shady outfit! They purport to be BMG London, but rest assured, that’s not who they are! The individual on the other end of the line comes across as quite threatening and unpleasant. Steer clear of them and absolutely refrain from divulging any information, your name included. Their game is to trick you by fishing for publicly available details to earn your confidence before they dive into a survey that inevitably leads to probing for sensitive bank information. Do NOT be taken in! The simplest tactic when they ring up and inquire if they’ve reached the correct individual is to firmly state, “No, you’ve got the wrong person” and promptly hang up. After that, block their number!

Beware, these folks arent really with BMG like they say. They keep telling you they’re with BMG London, but that’s just not true. They want you to give them your bank info - don’t fall for it! Like others have pointed out, never ever confirm anything with them, not even your name. Just hang up as soon as they ask for any details. Total scam!

Beware of this lot - they’re total scammers. Really pushy and threatening. Never give them any details, not even your name, no matter what. Their trick is to get you to confirm stuff that's already out there online to gain your confidence. Then they try to get you to do a survey where they ask for sensitive info like bank details. Don’t fall for it. The best way to deal with them is to simply say “No, you’ve got the wrong number” when they ask if you’re the person they’re looking for.
