I didn’t engage with any prompts, just looked up the number instead. Given the plethora of scams where they trick you into calling back or pressing buttons, I steer clear of that nonsense. When I rang the Barclaycard Security number listed on the back of my card, they seemed oddly nonchalant about the situation-left me feeling like they weren't entirely aware of what was going on.12 yearsIt's quite astonishing, but this is indeed a number associated with Barclaycard Fraud Protection. I had to navigate a labyrinth of verification just to confirm its authenticity, as even Barclaycard's own system for checking fraud hotline numbers denied it was legitimate! The call itself is automated, merely stating your name and requesting confirmation before succumbing to utter silence. I expressed my utter frustration to Barclaycard regarding these blunders, and they offered me vague assurances that they'd 'take it into account'. It’s bewilderingly foolish conduct from such a well-known institution! What on earth is going on there? After raising my concerns, they provided me with a “new” number for quicker access to their systems, yet lo and behold, it’s also nowhere to be found on the Barclaycard website. What a complete shambles!
