Just found out my mum ended up giving her card info on the phone to sign up for some call blocking thing. They told her to call Mark at this number, but when she tried, it wouldn’t go through at all! Sounds like a total scam to me. If you get a call from them, best to just hang up and not bother. I’m gonna help my mum cancel her cards ASAP.

Got a call on 6th May 2014 from someone claiming to be National Call Advice Centre, saying I was paying £4 a month to stop annoying calls (I’m on the Telephone Preference Service, but don’t pay anyone though). They went on about blocking overseas calls, silent rings, telemarketers, all that stuff, and then asked if I wanted to pay just over a quid and gave my debit card details. I told them I'd need to check them out properly as I hadn’t heard of them before and would ring back later.
