Been waiting for my blood test and ECG results from the hospital, so imagine my shock when I got a message saying “URGENT! We’ve been trying to reach you. It’s crucial we talk today...” Honestly, these sorts of messages are just dreadful - they scare folks for no reason. Such nonsense should be banned.

Who in their right mind thinks I’m going to ring back a number that’s shouting ATTENTION! and claiming it’s urgent to speak to me, but hasn’t even left a missed call? Then they want me to dial a premium rate number? Honestly, some of these scams must be run by complete plonkers. If it really was important, they’d tell me their name, company and I’d probably recognise the reference number before now (you don’t get those randomly without a reason). Is it just me or is anyone else sick of all the spam, scams and junk calls on mobiles these days? It’s getting just as bad as landlines, which we’ve now unplugged at home.

Got the same message as a few others today, and I ended up reporting it to my network provider. They told me to reply with the word STOP to the number 07427732341. Plus, since I’ve got an antivirus app on my phone, they suggested I block that number too. Hope this info is useful. Cheers, David

Got a call today on my work phone at 9.43 on the 17th of October. I was actually expecting a critical call from the hospital, something really urgent, but when I answered it turned out to be just another spam number. Honestly, like I haven’t already got enough stress to handle.
