Just got one of those recorded calls about PPI, and it's annoying how they keep ringing up even if you’re on the TPS list. If you ever get these random recorded messages or live calls, be sure to jot down all the details you can and report it to the ICO at ico.org.uk. Apparently, the Information Commissioners Office says the problem’s getting better since they’re receiving less complaints, but I reckon it might just be that folks aren’t bothering to report as much. Don’t forget, reporting these calls helps the ICO track down and take action against these businesses.

Our office gets calls from this number pretty much every half hour. It’ll ring a couple times, stop for a bit, then ring again like 4 times in a row before cutting out. When you hit 5 to speak to someone and tell them you’re not happy, they just drop the call. And if you press 9 to get taken off their list, another number calls right after. If Barclays allows this kind of thing, I definitely won’t be opening an account with them. Don’t reckon they care though, not one bit!

This number keeps ringing my unlisted number loads of times a day... I’m baffled how they even got hold of it?? I’ve never had any Barclays accounts or anything... yet they always just drop the call as soon as they hear my answerphone beep - never leave a message! So annoying!

Not sure if writing this helps at all since nothing really changes, but I think I might know who’s behind it. Got a call from Barclays yesterday after my card was blocked online because they wanted to make sure it was me using it. Now, I’m starting to suspect Barclays are the ones sharing my number around, as I hadn’t had any issues like this for ages before that call. I’m planning to ring Barclays myself to get to the bottom of it, and if they can’t convince me it’s not their doing, I’ll be shutting my account down.

Every single day, my work phone gets hit with these calls about 2 to 4 times. It’s always some automated voice telling you to press numbers to get through to someone - but I’m thinking it might be a trick to charge you if you actually press anything? Could be a scam, not sure. I’m swamped with work and this constant ringing is doing my head in. Worst part is, there’s no way to opt out or block these annoying calls that just won’t stop. Proper frustrating! :(
