Had a rather peculiar phone call today regarding a survey on quitting smoking. The caller was quite pushy and tried to sell me a weekly magazine for just £1. When I refused to provide my bank information over the phone, he became quite persistent, insisting that it was perfectly secure and safe. He even rattled off what he claimed were his sort code and account number. He asked me to call back after verifying the details, but to be honest, I won’t be proceeding with this. Cheers!

Got a call pushing ppi hard, kept saying I was sorting it on my own and didn’t need their help. Told them why would I let them take commission off me. The guy started getting more and more worked up till I calmly said I’d already written to my credit company about ppi and got good results without paying anything like their fees. Then he just hung up. Never heard from them after that.

Just a heads up to everyone - stay vigilant!

I’ve chosen not to pick up, as I have a strong suspicion that I’ve unwittingly signed up for some kind of 'competition' or survey that’s left my phone buzzing incessantly. Regrettably, this isn't even the only culprit, as there are several others ringing me off the hook as well. What a bother!
