Around 6.30pm this number rang me, my little girl picked up and then passed the phone to me. A woman asked for my husband by his first name, I told her he wasn’t in - which was true - and asked who was calling. She didn’t say anything, just stayed silent, chuckled and then ended the call. Proper annoying!!

What I do is leave my BT Aura answer phone switched on, then I check the caller ID before actually answering the call. My mates hang about to see if I pick up, and since all the messages left are totally scratchy and impossible to understand, plus I use 1471 to call back when I’m free, they don’t bother wasting their time or credit leaving a message. I’ve got just one button to press to bin any unwanted messages, which honestly makes me feel great, and it stops me from needing to buy some sort of call blocker!

Is it Denis or Dennis publishing, then? I used to get 'The Week' magazine from them, which was quite good but mostly just went over the news I'd already caught on TV or online. When I tried to cancel (which was a bit tricky if I recall), I started getting loads of calls that I just ignored. I'll explain what I did next in another post.

I've had this number ringing both my mobile and landline loads over the last few days. Surprisingly, she replied personally within a day, assuring me she’d forward my request to the right department so they’d take my details off their list straightaway.
