This seems to be a dodgy message that looks like it's from Barclays, but the inability to respond to the text should raise some red flags. Thankfully, I had just wrapped up my account, or I could have easily been taken in by it.

I received a rather suspicious text today, asking if I had tried to transfer £4000 on the 28th of November, 2015. It instructed me to reply with 'Y' if I had or to give them a ring at 0843 289 5795 if I hadn’t. They also mentioned having my card reader ready. Just a heads-up to everyone, be careful with such messages!

I've had a rather unsettling experience myself. Strangely enough, my phone was cut off just after they answered the call. A couple of hours later, I received a call from an unspecified number. The caller claimed to be the same individual I had spoken to earlier and bluntly requested the last four digits of my card, without bothering to identify themselves. When I inquired if I could confirm that they were indeed from Barclays, they merely provided their name and then prompted me for my own. Amusingly, given that my name starts with a "C," I reckon they were rather annoyed and chose to end the call abruptly. Just a word of caution for everyone out there!

I got a rather dodgy text from this number:
“Did you try to transfer £4000 on 23/11/2015?
If you did, respond with Y.
If not, please ring 0843 289 5795.
Make sure you have your card reader nearby.”
....I didn’t bother calling since the number seemed fishy, and my instincts kicked in. Straight away, I got in touch with Barclays’ helpline, and they assured me that this number is definitely not associated with the bank. Just a word of warning-be cautious and don’t engage with such messages. Always reach out to your bank directly through their official helpline.

I got a rather puzzling message from this number: "Did you try to transfer £4000 on the 23rd of November, 2015? If you did, simply reply with 'Y'. If not, kindly ring 0843 289 5795 and have your card reader ready." I, being curious, dialled the number, but all I encountered was a recorded message stating I was seventh in the queue. After a good ten minutes, I was still in the same position! Has anyone else experienced something similar or have any insights to share? Cheers, Rafiq.
