Looks like a scam pretending to be from Barclays. You can't even reply to the message, which should ring alarm bells. Glad I shut my account recently, or I could have easily been tricked.

Got a text earlier saying: Have you tried to move £4000 on 28/11/2015? If yes, text back Y. If not, ring 0843 289 5795. They told me to have my card reader ready. Watch out, feels like a scam!

Today I received a similar message and realised it’s a scam. Please don’t share any personal info with them.

I had a similar thing happen to me. Weirdly, right after they answered my call, my phone suddenly lost connection. Then, about two hours later, someone rang me from an unknown number claiming they were the person I spoke to earlier. Without even introducing themselves properly, they immediately asked for the last four digits of my card. When I asked if I could confirm they were really from Barclays, they only gave me their name and asked for mine. It was kind of funny because they totally messed up pronouncing my name, sounded like just “C.” I think they got annoyed and just ended the call on me. Watch out for this!

...I didn't ring that number back because it looked odd and I thought it might be fishy. I phoned Barclays customer service straight away and they told me that number isn’t from Barclays at all. Be careful and never respond to texts like that, always contact your bank on their official helpline instead.

Got a text from this number asking if I tried to transfer £4000 on 23/11/2015. It said if yes, reply Y, if no, call 0843 289 5795 and have your card reader ready. I rang that number but just got a voicemail telling me I was number 7 in the queue. Waited for 10 mins and still no change, still stuck at number 7. Does anyone know what's going on with this?
