This morning, I got a rather suspicious text from the number in question, indicating that "Barclays is performing a fraud check... Did you authorise a transaction of £1400 with DHL UK on the 5th of October, 2016? If so, reply with a Y... if not, please ring 0843 289 5771." My curiosity led me to Google the number, and to my dismay, I discovered it's a scam! I’d like to formally report this number to you for further action. Cheers, Roz MacIntyre

What a bunch of numpties! Just received a message regarding a £1400 payment linked to DHL. Honestly, they could've made it seem a tad more believable if they'd gone for a hundred quid instead! These people really ought to find something better to occupy their time.

Scam alert! Avoid any calls or messages from this number!
They're definitely not a financial institution. If you happen to ring them, be warned - they’ll hit you with premium charges and request your personal details, claiming it's for some sort of verification. Make sure to notify the police and your bank immediately!

I got a message inquiring whether I’d tried to make a payment of £1400 to DHL. They claimed it was part of a fraud investigation... Honestly, it’s definitely a scam!!!

I recently received a message from this number purporting to be from NATWEST BANK, stating they were conducting a fraud investigation. They requested that I verify an alleged £1400 transaction with DHL. If I hadn't made this payment, I was instructed to ring the number given. Naturally, I took the precaution of searching for NATWEST's official contact details online, only to discover that the number didn’t match at all. Upon contacting NATWEST directly, they reassured me that it wasn't their official number and promptly connected me with their fraud department for further assistance.
