Someone pretending to be Santander called me! Definitely not from Santander though. They tried to get my DOB and other personal info. Don’t share anything with them!

They claimed to be calling from Santander but I knew right away it was dodgy since Santander doesn’t use an 8080 number. When they started asking for my PIN, alarm bells rang. Real Santander reps only ask about things like your last purchase or old address, stuff they can check on their end, not your full PIN. Makes no sense for them to want that info, definitely a scammer trying it on.

Received a ring from this number claiming to be Santander, said there was some dodgy stuff going on with my account. They wanted me to answer some security questions but I told them no, I'd just pop down to my local branch instead. They ended up hanging up on me. Definitely felt like a scam to me.
