I called this number that popped up on a Google search, thinking I could get in touch with Google regarding issues I was having with my email. After sharing my email address and birth date with the chap on the other end, he took control of my computer remotely. He claimed my email had been compromised and demanded £78 to resolve the issue. I pushed back, stating that Apple provides its own security measures against hacking. He insisted that it was crucial to sort this out, saying all my devices had been breached. When I flatly refused to pay, he promptly shut everything down. I'm feeling quite uneasy now, considering he had access to my computer. I plan to contact Apple tomorrow, as I'm struggling to find a way to inform Google of this situation.

My partner recently encountered an issue with her premium Yahoo Rocket Mail service. She unwittingly allowed someone to access her computer, but when they insisted on a payment of £90, they promptly hung up after she declined. Quite the cheeky lot, aren't they?

I rang this number on the 3rd of July, 2016, as I was having a right nightmare with my Gmail-couldn’t send or receive a thing! The chap on the line informed me that someone in Russia was using my account. He then asked for a rather hefty sum of £120 to sort it out. I asked if he could just shut my account down to prevent any further misuse, but he claimed he could do nothing unless I coughed up the cash. When I pressed him on it, he just cut off the call. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

My grandmother received a call regarding her talk21 account, as she needed to modify her password. The representative informed her that upon inspecting her email account, he discovered viruses on her computer. However, one cannot ascertain the applications installed on a PC just by examining a cloud-based email service.

I received a call supposedly to help with securing my Facebook after it was compromised. Some messages had been dispatched to my mates, asking them for their PayPal info-classic scam! The chap on the other end sounded like he was seeing pound signs in front of him at that moment.

He claimed that they accessed my account through the server and insisted he needed to do an update on my server for a hefty fee of £100.

Total con job, I’m telling you! What he was saying didn't add up one bit!

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Facebook's customer support since my account had been disabled. They pressured me into downloading a seven-layer network security software. When I inquired whether it was free, they mentioned there was a one-time fee of £150! At that point, I decided to hang up. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I dialled this number seeking help with my account as I’ve been locked out. The person on the line informed me that my account had been compromised and suggested that a software engineer would need to intervene to enhance my security, costing me £89! I terminated the call immediately! Surely they would have asked for my banking information next? It’s got all the hallmarks of a scam, if you ask me!

I reached out to Yahoo Support for a bit of assistance, but the customer advisor didn’t bother with a proper greeting at all. I explained my issue, and out of the blue, he started inquiring whether I had any acquaintances in Nigeria, claiming that someone was poking around in my email accounts and had access to a myriad of things. He insisted I needed immediate security measures, and when I pressed for details about any potential costs, he casually mentioned there would be a fee. Before I could even finish my farewells, the line went dead. Quite the experience, I must say!
