Apparently this number is linked to Santander but it’s definitely NOT their fraud line. The person called saying there was a problem with an Amazon Prime payment - they said it was meant to be around £5 but somehow £95 was attempted. I received a call from this number earlier. They rang me a couple of times, letting the phone ring for quite a while before ultimately leaving me hanging without picking up. Quite odd, really.

Claimed it was regarding someone with an account at Santander, and instructed that individual to return the call to Santander. If it was a scam, it was rather convincing.

THIS IS DEFINITELY A LEGITIMATE SANTANDER NUMBER. I JUST CHECKED BY RINGING SANTANDER ON A NUMBER I KNOW IS SAFE. THE CALL FROM THIS NUMBER IS AN AUTOMATED FRAUD ALERT, WHICH I GOT RIGHT AFTER ATTEMPTING TO SEND A BIG AMOUNT OF CASH. I THINK SOME FOLKS HERE MIGHT HAVE THOUGHT IT WAS A SCAM, WHICH I GET, CAUSE IT'S REALLY TOUGH TO TRUST THESE DAYS!!

Got a call on my mobile from some recorded message claiming to be Santander, saying it was urgent to press 1. Of course, I didn’t do that and just ended the call. Seriously, how do these lot already have my bank details and even my name??
