I got in touch with Santander through a different phone number and they assured me this call was a scam. They cancelled my old card and are sending a replacement. What bugs me is that Santander’s website mentions they do make automated calls in this way, which really makes it hard to tell if those calls are legit or just scams. Quite frustrating, to be honest.

When I did, I got an automated message saying if I wasn’t the customer, someone called Mrs something, to press 2. I was hoping to tell them they had the wrong number, but as I wasn’t the customer, the system just ended the call on me. Quite frustrating really.

Phoned Santander Customer Services to check if this was a legit Santander number. They did a “lookup” and told me it was genuine. I got this phone call on my landline. We've had issues with Santander fraud before so we only ring them from mobiles, like Santander told us to do. This is really a legit Santander number. I flagged it as a scam and risky on the 25th May because I got two text messages linked to it, but I didnt see the money leaving my account then. Turns out the amount was taken out on the 26th. I phoned the number and got through to Santander’s Fraud team. The charge was for Apple[###]. They refunded the money and are sending me a new card now.
