I had a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be from a number associated with 146 Banbury Road in Oxford, stating that my computer was infected with a virus. The chap had an accent that I couldn't place - definitely not one from around here. I advised him that I wasn't interested in his nonsense and tried to end the conversation, but he just kept prattling on. My patience wore thin, and I ended up telling him to shove off before I hung up. I sincerely hope others take the same stance and that these scam artists are brought to justice.

I received a call at 17:10 GMT from someone with an Asian accent, claiming there was a significant issue with my internet service provider and they needed my computer switched on. When I pressed for more details, including their telephone number, they flatly refused to share any information. I played along, inquiring how they had obtained my number-considering it’s linked to a security agency-yet they had no response. When I asked about the operating system, they stated Windows, which struck me as odd since we exclusively use Apple devices. Don’t be taken in by these tactics!

Identical to the previous situation - a company claiming to be PC Experts of Oxford is insisting there’s a virus on your computer, urging compliance with their directives. I’m by no means a tech whizz, yet it struck me immediately that they probably aren't affiliated with Microsoft or Apple in any capacity! It's blatantly obvious the call originated from India and it reeks of a scam. My concern peaks for vulnerable seniors who might fall for such trickery. I came across a suggestion on another forum to contact them via Skype instead of ringing them up on 0800 7562985 - might give that a go later for a bit of amusement!

Just now, I got a call from a place named PC Expert on 146 Banbury Road. As soon as I inquired about her address, she abruptly ended the call. It’s clearly some sort of scam. Stay alert, folks!

Today, I received a rather peculiar call from someone claiming to be Suzanne Watson. Strangely, she mentioned an address at 197 Banbury Road. Her spiel was all about wanting to remotely access my device for a supposed virus check. Quite amusingly, I own a Mac! Clearly, it's all a scam. When I labelled her a crook, she abruptly ended the call. How very fishy!

I had a rather unsettling call from someone claiming to be Yogi. He seemed to possess an uncanny knowledge of my computer, but upon doing a bit of digging on Google, it all appeared to be a sham. I urge everyone to stay vigilant! He ended up convincing me that my computer was at risk and managed to swindle £450.99 out of me. Cheers, DAVID GREEN

I received a rather peculiar call from a woman named Kathleen. She claimed to have some sort of insight into my computer situation, insisting that my device was riddled with viruses and that her team could provide assistance. Naturally, I wanted to get to the bottom of her sketchy claims, so I started probing her for information on how she obtained my number. As the conversation progressed, it became clear that she wasn’t keen on divulging too much, and she abruptly cut the call. In the end, I managed to note down some dubious details she provided: Company: PC Experts, located in Oxford, at 146 Banbury Road, OX1 4TZ. The phone number she gave was 08006512304. It's truly concerning to think about those who might be misled by this nonsense.

I've received yet another call from these chaps - I reckon it must be the sixth time now. I informed him that I'm a retired engineer with an ICT background (though I didn't mention my retirement status), yet he persisted in urging me to switch on my computer due to supposed "viruses". I clarified that I had recently performed a factory reset on my machine prior to installing Windows 10. Honestly, this bloke is utterly daft! It's baffling how some individuals can be so easily duped by these scammers. He attempted to fish for my phone number, but it was the same old charade - supposedly from 'PC Export, 146 Banbury Road, Oxford.' Best, David from Brightlingsea

I recently received a call from someone claiming to be affiliated with BC Expert, who, upon my request, provided an address: 146 Banbury Road, Oxford. The number he offered was 0800 311 4531. He warned me that my computer was under threat due to potential viruses caused by my online activity, particularly whenever I downloaded something or browsed the web. I informed him that I routinely perform scans two to three times a week, and my system has shown no issues. As I continued to press him with questions, he abruptly mentioned he would need to ring me back shortly because of "server issues" on his side. I noticed that the number that called me was withheld, which piqued my suspicion. After a quick search, I stumbled upon numerous alarming reports regarding the company. A few minutes later, this Asian gentleman did call again, but I told him I'd done my homework and deemed it a scam call. He promptly hung up. Just a heads-up for everyone out there! Stay vigilant!

I received a rather peculiar call last evening from a lady named Annie Williams, claiming to represent PC Experts Global. She insisted that there was an issue with my computer. When I probed further, she mentioned an address-146 Banbury Road, Oxford, if I recall correctly. I promptly informed her that I didn’t own a Windows computer, to which she audaciously replied that I supposedly had three! After some back and forth, I decided enough was enough and hung up. Curiously, later that night, another chap from the same outfit tried to reach me, but I wasted no time and ended that call as well. Quite the evening, I must say!

I’ve just had an exceedingly lengthy "conversation" with this lot (P C Export), who were adamant that my computer was in dire peril and that standard antivirus software wouldn’t detect the issues they were claiming. The woman recited the same name and address in Oxford that others have flagged. I refused to provide any personal details and requested her contact number, which she dodged like a pro, eventually providing me with 0800 013 4410. She was incredibly pushy, trying to guide me through the process of sharing my identification code or something of that sort. When I chuckled and queried what on earth drove her to such a role, she abruptly hung up. They are blatant scammers, but I can easily see how they might frighten a lot of individuals into complying and relinquishing control of their devices!

I've received three phone calls in the past four days from this lot, insisting they can sort out my computer, which they claim is teeming with viruses. I've also had interactions with a couple of blokes named David Grey and Shane Wilson.

I didn’t catch the number, but it seems to be the same crowd-these individuals rang my private line at 08:20. A woman named Cheney informed me that my computer had apparently downloaded some dodgy software and was allegedly transmitting information without my consent, claiming she could resolve issues that McAfee couldn’t manage. She insisted I open an administrator programme that she was instructing me to access. When I requested her contact number to follow up, she refused, stating she wasn’t permitted to provide it, but did mention her company as PC Exports, based in Oxford, supposedly calling on behalf of Windows Global Authorisation. By this point, I was absolutely livid and made my feelings very clear about what I thought of her, her organisation, and where she could shove her ridiculous propositions-enough said!

I was rather frustrated when someone claimed to be from PC Expert based at 146 Banbury Road, Oxford, yet refused to share their phone number with me. This person insisted that I had an issue with my computer and that I needed to provide her with some licensing details. When I questioned her about the Telephone Preference Service, she nonchalantly remarked that it didn’t pertain to our conversation, asserting it wasn’t a promotional call and that they operated via VOIP. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

Just like many others who have shared their frustrations, I find myself seething over these incessant calls. It feels utterly unjust that these nefarious individuals can operate with impunity, while we seem utterly helpless to put a stop to them. Surely, there’s enough technology available to combat this issue, yet I can’t imagine the Prime Minister has to contend with such nuisance. We ought to push for a system where every telephone number is transparent and traceable; it's high time that service providers face some consequences themselves. Just imagine how swift the solutions would be if their wallets were at stake! Furthermore, there should definitely be a straightforward way to block calls from numbers that are withheld or not disclosed.

PC export? What a farce! I looked into 146 Banbury Road in Oxfordshire, and lo and behold, there's no company to be found! I'd advise steering clear and sharing no details whatsoever. Don't click on anything on your device unless you're keen on inviting identity fraud into your life. Consider this a cautionary note!

Over the past five days, I've been bombarded with an unusual amount of calls from this so-called business, with all their numbers conveniently hidden. These individuals are, without question, incredibly aggressive and quite impolite. They refuse to divulge the name of the person they’re trying to reach and instead, pressure me to power up my computer. It’s best to steer clear of them, as they're nothing but a drain on your time.

I received a call from a person named Miley using a withheld number. When I requested their address, they mentioned 146 Banbury Rd, Oxford. They were keen to offer me computer repair services, but I told them I’d look them up before making any decisions. They quickly ended the conversation. Interestingly, they had also tried to reach me the day prior. It’s puzzling how they obtained my number since it’s not listed anywhere and has never been public.

I've only had my new landline for a mere two days, and already these blithering idiots have rung me twice daily, claiming my computer is riddled with security issues! I've registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and I genuinely believed that having a fresh number would spare me this nonsense for at least a month! They even had the audacity to mention their business, BCX BOTS, located at 146 Banbury Road, Oxford! What a right nuisance!

I received a rather alarming phone call from a woman named Jennifer. She claimed that my computer was plagued with severe malware, warning that if I didn’t address the situation promptly, my machine would suffer detrimental consequences. She asserted that she represented Windows and even had my computer's license number on hand. Jennifer insisted she could assist me and inquired if my computer was switched on. Naturally, I requested a callback number, which she provided as an 0808 number, and I also asked for some company details. True to her word, she rang me back about two hours later, pressuring me to confirm whether I had conducted any research on her claim, attempting to make me believe her urgency. She was quite persistent, but I wasn’t about to let her steamroll me; I made sure to give her a bit of resistance. Eventually, she hung up the phone after I grilled her. Quite the dodgy encounter, if you ask me!

I just received a rather dubious phone call from a gentleman with an Indian accent, claiming to be from Microsoft Windows. He asserted that they had detected a virus on my computer that they could fix. He provided me with some sort of licence ID and hinted that I should access my computer and allow him remote access! When I informed him that I didn’t own a PC, he quickly suggested it must be a Mac instead! After some back and forth, he finally gave me a number to call back, instructing me specifically to ask for someone named Leon Smith. To top it off, I’ve had around ten other calls in recent days, all international numbers, which ended abruptly as soon as I answered!

I received a rather alarming call from this number, claiming to be affiliated with Microsoft, insisting that my computer was in grave danger. They were incredibly convincing, even guiding me to their dubious website - pcexpertz. Foolishly, I ended up shelling out £99.00 for a supposedly three-year antivirus subscription! Now, I've come to realise that it's nothing more than a scam, and it appears they're still able to access my machine! Please, take my advice and steer clear of these unscrupulous individuals - they’re despicable, targeting those who might be unsuspecting.

I can confirm that I've received similar reports from others regarding a firm named "Caller Prevention Service." They tout themselves as being affiliated with the government as an "official approved service" by both the TPS and BT. Strangely, they're requesting a password and promoting a device for the hefty price of £79.99. Their website, www.cpsregistry.co.uk, fails to clarify any potential additional fees. Interestingly, all the pages on the site seem to point to an address in Stratford E15, except for the "Privacy & Policy" section which bizarrely lists an Indian address in the footer. The person who rang me also had an Asian accent. I traced the number using 1471, which revealed it as 0085 8741 4520, seemingly registered in Croatia. I'm puzzled-seeing as I’m already registered with the TPS, how on earth am I still receiving such calls?

I recently encountered a rather dubious situation with some chaps claiming they could send me a device to attach to my phone that would eliminate unwanted marketing calls. They promised that after a mere 28 days, I’d be free from the incessant ringing of cold callers. Strangely, they requested a password from me for any future inquiries. Sensing a bit of a con, I asked for a detailed explanation of how this miraculous device supposedly functioned, but the fellow couldn't provide any clarity. Instead, he told me to hold on while he transferred me to a colleague who could elaborate. By that point, I was thoroughly fed up and decided to hang up. I strongly advise steering clear of these sorts of conversations; they’re quite aggressive and not at all polite!

Following up on an earlier comment, I had a rather peculiar international call myself. An individual with what I’d describe as an Asian accent claimed they were calling to assist with the frequent nuisance calls I'd been receiving. They pitched a service that supposedly had government backing, suggesting they could eliminate unwanted calls within a mere 28 days. The spiel made it sound like a complimentary service, promising to send a small device that I would need to connect to my phone. However, having some knowledge about these gadgets-like the fact they can reroute calls through another number, subsequently leading to sky-high bills-I decided to decline their offer and abruptly ended the conversation.

I received a call from a gentleman with an Asian accent who introduced himself as Bob. He claimed to be reaching out regarding the excessive amount of nuisance calls I'd been getting on my number, and offered to block those pesky spam calls. He mentioned that they were an approved service working alongside BT and assured me they could rid my phone of these unsolicited calls within about four weeks. Initially, it sounded like a complimentary service with a small device that I'd connect to my phone. However, when I probed a bit further to confirm if it truly was free of charge, he suddenly mentioned a monthly fee. I didn’t catch the exact cost, as I decided to hang up at that point.

I've come across this so-called "Call Prevention Service" that people seem to be buzzing about. Is there any legitimacy to their claims? They're asking for a fee to help stop those pesky nuisance calls.
