It might be legit, since we've got a Ministry of Defence place just nearby. If there was a real emergency, they’d let me know straight away. I think that number’s just to check if you want to be informed, then the next one’s probably to verify who you are. After that, you say yes, and that’s it. Pretty sure that’s how it works.

I received a message telling me to ring 08081891188 and put in the code 307020209. It said it was some kind of emergency test alert, but I decided not to call because it seemed dodgy. Still, it did make me a bit nervous.

I tried calling back but it went straight to voicemail with some kind of code they wanted me to punch in after dialling the number. They said it was an urgent message or something. The first time I rang there was no response. Yet today, I got the same message again but this time from a different 0808 number. Weird!

I've been pestered by this number that rings us repeatedly, blaring out some robotic message regarding a supposed delayed parcel. It instructs me to call back on 08081891188 and provide a code, 67522300, to acknowledge receipt. The thing is, we're not due for any deliveries, so I’ve avoided calling back-don't fancy racking up a hefty bill on one of those dodgy lines! I've now received around ten calls from them; it's becoming increasingly tedious!

Got a call from this number, they claimed it was some kind of emergency and wanted me to ring them back with a code. When I did… they just said I didn’t need to respond after all. Honestly, if you get asked to call back, just block it - definitely not urgent!
