I think this is a legit call from Lloyds/HBOS. I got loads of calls from this number and when I finally took the time to do the security check, I was happy to see that I qualified to have my mortgage arrears consolidated.

I've been receiving some rather suspicious calls that keep probing for all sorts of personal information-full names, account numbers, sort codes, expiry dates, and even my address. Strangely enough, the same number claims to represent Lloyds, and then the next call comes from Halifax, followed closely by TSB, and now I hear from the fraud squad? It all seems a bit too coincidental, if you ask me!

Received a couple of calls on my mobile and then my landline from someone claiming to be from Halifax about a banking issue. They wanted me to verify my date of birth and postcode but skipped the usual security checks. When I probed a bit more about the purpose of the call, she stated that she couldn't divulge any information without my confirmation. I pressed on, suspecting it might be something serious like a security breach on my account, but she kept insisting on getting my details first. Thankfully, I managed to rush over to my local branch where they thoroughly checked all my accounts-nothing amiss on my end. They informed me that their fraud department has been overwhelmed with similar calls this week. - suspected scammer: Halifax/Lloyds

From what I gather, folks seem to receive calls on both their mobiles and landlines a couple of times daily. It’s often best to just overlook them altogether - either don't pick up or simply hang up immediately.

A few days back, I received a missed call accompanied by a voicemail. The fella on the line claimed to be from Lloyds Bank, discussing a business transaction. It was immediately clear to me that I was dealing with a scam artist, and I was quite eager for them to give me another ring. Well, today I had the pleasure of receiving two calls in quick succession-one on the landline and another on my mobile, both within two minutes! The first chap spoke with a noticeable Asian accent and introduced himself as Dan: "Hello," I answered. "Hello, this is Lloyds Bank. May I speak with Mr Rich XXXXX?" came his query. "May I ask who's on the line?" I replied. "This is Dan," he said. "Greetings, this is Mr Rich XXXXX. How may I assist you today?" "Before we proceed, may I take down some details to verify I’m speaking to the right individual?" he asked. "By all means, Dan. Go ahead," I encouraged. "Could you provide me with your postcode?" "Of course! Would you prefer to start by giving me a kiss?" I cheekily responded. "Um, can I have your postcode, please?" he insisted again. "Did my first response escape you? Let me articulate it more clearly: would you fancy sucking my todger? I promise I shan’t finish in your mouth." "I don’t understand you," replied Dan. "I’d like to have relations with you orally," I elaborated. Suddenly, the line went silent. What a cheeky bugger trying to extract my private details without so much as a proper introduction! I reckon Dan ought to up his game or perhaps reconsider his line of work entirely. Suffice it to say, I was rather miffed that he’d hung up just as I was warming to the conversation. One had to appreciate the effort, though. I hoped he might ring back; he seemed quite delightful, really! Just as I settled back in my armchair preparing to catch up on S4 E13 of 24 (I know, I’m a bit behind), my mobile rang again-thankfully, I didn’t have to shift from my comfy seat! "Hello," I answered. "Hello, this is Lloyds Bank. May I speak with Mr Rich XXXX?" Well, well, the audacity for a second round! Did Dan not share that I was rather stubborn? This time, it was a woman with a similar accent. Perhaps she had some formidable tricks up her sleeve from her days in a P.O.W. camp-I was keen to find out! "One moment, I shall fetch him. May I inquire who’s calling?" "Lloyds Bank," she reiterated. "Blimey! You’ve just repeated yourself; I’m sure you've got a proper name?" "This is Sarah," she replied. (Who on earth dubs an Asian lady 'Sarah'?) "Hang on, I’ll get him for you!" I decided to let out a bellow before switching to my most refined accent-no idea why I opted for that! "Hello, how may I assist you?" I said in my poshest voice. "Yes, may I take some details from you before we proceed?" she asked. "Only if you share a bit of information with me first," I countered. "Sure! What’s your postcode?" she enquired. "Alright, I’ll go first, and you can follow-none of this holding back now. How about I take you from behind with my appendage?" "I didn’t quite catch that," Sarah replied, puzzled. "I’d like to play with your hidden treasures," I clarified. "Could you repeat that, sir?" "Certainly! I wish to have you in a rather intimate manner!" And once more, we were disconnected. -Caller claiming to be from Lloyds Bank.

just had a call from this number, first time ive heard from it. it was a woman with an asian accent wanting to talk about something to do with my lloyds account. she refused to give more details unless i confirmed my birthdate and postcode. i said no and told her to send me stuff by post instead. called lloyds myself later and they said no lloyds number begins with 0808 and there’s nothing wrong with my account. i’d say block this number straight away.

I keep getting calls like 3 or 4 times daily from someone pretending to be Lloyds Bank, saying they need to talk about a personal matter. When I rang Lloyds up, they had a recorded message on hold saying they'd never call you out of the blue. Then these scammers sent me a letter which looked kinda fake but tried to seem official, with the same number, claiming I was behind on my American Express and needed to give my debit card info right away. Since I don’t even have an AMEX, I just tossed it straight in the bin.

I've been getting calls on both my mobile and home phone at least two times daily. Whenever I'm home and I ignore the mobile, the landline follows up straight away. They’re claiming to represent my mortgage provider, with folks named Michael and Sue reaching out. They don’t take a blind bit of notice when I inform them I’ll be reporting them to the authorities if they persist. Interestingly, their accents aren’t even Indian.

I received a call this evening (28/10/15) from someone claiming to be from Halifax. However, I find it quite hard to believe, as they’ve never attempted to contact me before, especially not at 7 in the evening. I decided it was best to hang up! - Caller: Gal

Was struggling to catch his name and after a few tries he went with sierra alpha mike, so I’m guessing it’s sam? Claimed to be ringing from RBS.Halifax about my account and asked if it was sam-bs or halifax-tbs. Then he said he needed to ask security questions first. Asked for my d.o.b but I told him I never share personal info over the phone. He said he understood and told me to call RBS on their free 0808 number. I asked why I would do that, especially as I quit RBS back in 2010! Total scam, think the police in Yorkshire should crack down on these lot.

Claiming to be from Halifax; the person on the line has an Asian accent and their pronunciation is unclear. They call repeatedly, sometimes you get a robotic message saying they’ll call back or asking you to ring them. It’s a scam trying to get your personal info. Don’t pick up or reply. They might also say they’re from Lloyds, Bank of Scotland, or Birmingham Midshires. Sometimes they add fake reviews like ‘Who called! search engines say this number is legit and official’ - don’t believe that. Most comments about this number are bad, so best to stay well clear.

Absolutely staggering! This number, 0808 145 0360, has been pestering me relentlessly - I reckon it’s at least six times this week, hitting me up once daily at all sorts of odd hours. Yesterday, I received a voicemail and, blimey, it actually used my name! It spoke about some so-called 'business matter’ and urged me to get in touch during proper business hours. To top it off, I got another call from them today, despite having it on my reject list. What a nuisance! - caller: 0808 145 0360

They won't stop ringing me asking for someone who ain't even at this address. We've put our number on the "do not call" list cause of privacy and health reasons but they still hassle us. Next time I'll just answer with something like "I've completed it, but there's blood everywhere" or maybe ask them when they last talked to the person they're after and how close they are!

I received a rather unwelcome phone call from this number yesterday at precisely 8 a.m. The individual on the line presented themselves as being from Halifax and proceeded to request some of my personal information for what they described as ‘security verification’. When I inquired about the purpose of the call, they adamantly insisted that they couldn’t proceed without confirming my details first. I found this rather odd and rather intrusive, especially at such an early hour, and when I expressed my discontent, they promptly ended the call. In light of this, I decided to reach out to Halifax’s customer service directly using a legitimate UK number to express my concerns about the dreadful service I had received. The representative, who was absolutely charming and helpful, speculated that it might be a partner firm conducting some form of survey. After relaying my frustration about the abrupt end to our conversation, they assured me that they’d take steps to ensure that this number would be barred from contacting me in the future. However, much to my dismay, I received yet another call from 08081450360 this morning at 8:05 a.m. This time, I firmly instructed them never to call me again before I hung up myself. I promptly reached out to Halifax customer service once again, and the attentive representative requested I allow them to look into the matter. This interaction led me to this site, where I have gone through various similar experiences shared by others, which have left me believing that this could potentially be a scam. I’ve since blocked the number and am hopeful that by informing Halifax, they might help us collectively rid ourselves of this nuisance. I plan to bring this thread to their attention once they return my call regarding the issue. - caller: 0808 145 0360

My phone buzzed with a call claiming to be from Lloyds bank, but I wasn’t having any of their 'security checks'. Shortly after, the same number rang my landline-0808 145 0360. I've been receiving these calls claiming to be from British Gas, insisting that I owe them money. The thing is, I don’t even have an account with them! The chap on the other end, who goes by 'John', sounds more like he's from India than anywhere near the UK. Honestly, it's quite the farce. I’ve had enough of these pests and have finally started screening my calls so the ringing doesn’t bother me. Yet, I still seem to get about six of these calls each day!

I’ve been inundated with two phone calls daily from 0808 145 3060 / 3066 since the week began. I read somewhere that these could potentially be a scam or linked to Lloyds Bank, which is amusing as I've never had an account with them. So, I took the initiative to reach out to Lloyds directly, and they reassured me it was indeed a legitimate call, although it seems they may be searching for the previous holder of my number. I’ve been receiving numerous calls intended for the prior owner ever since I took on this number two years ago. Then there’s the matter of a text I received from "LloydsBank" just yesterday, requesting a payment. Oddly enough, there was no visible number attached to that message; it just appeared as LloydsBank, spelled precisely that way. The chap I spoke to at Lloyds seemed quite composed and advised me not to panic unless they addressed me by name. When I clarified that the message didn’t start with "Dear Miss x," he assured me it was nothing to be concerned about. If you do find yourself in a similar situation with Lloyds, you can have your number removed from their records if you truly believe you owe them nothing. - It’s supposedly from Lloyds collection/debt recovery.

Had a rather concerning phone call from this number earlier today. The individual on the other end claimed that in order to secure my bank account, I needed to share some personal information with them. When I inquired about the specifics of this so-called 'security breach', they refused to elaborate unless I first provided my details. It's crystal clear that this was a scammer attempting to extract sensitive information to either breach my bank account or impersonate me entirely. Quite alarming, really!

I've been receiving calls from this number, so I thought I'd pick up one time. Turns out, it's linked to the Lloyds Banking Group. If you're a customer of Halifax, Birmingham Midshires, or any of their other associated banks, this is their collections team reaching out. They're only going to ring you if you've got outstanding debts or have fallen behind on payments. Honestly, I'd have preferred a nuisance call! This number seems to be in use by various call centres around the globe that handle collections for Lloyds. They could be calling from anywhere, yet it's always this same number that pops up. If you try to return the call, you'll just get a pre-recorded message. However, if you call from a number that's in their database, they'll know you've attempted to get in touch. Remember, you’re under no obligation to share personal information if you're not convinced about the caller's identity. I always suggest asking for a contact number to reach them back or searching for a local office number online. It's best to speak to a real person to validate who you're dealing with and ask them to ring you back at their expense. But honestly, if it’s a scammer after my bank details, they can try all they like. Unless they're willing to clear my overdraft and debts, they won't see a penny from me! Stay safe and just ignore these sorts of calls. - Caller: 08081450360 Lloyds Bank Group

From what I’ve found, this number belongs to the Birmingham Midshires debt recovery team chasing overdue mortgage payments; they’re linked with the Bank of Scotland, same as Halifax, Lloyds, and a few others who use similar debt collectors. So if you’re behind on your payments, expect loads of calls and texts from them. They do ask for your date of birth, current address, monthly payment amounts, and your payment method. I’ve had to talk with them quite a few times. They do stop calling eventually, but it usually takes them about a day to do so. Hope that’s useful info.

I received a staggering 20 missed calls, which prompted me to finally pick up the phone. I greeted them with a polite "hello," only to be met with an eerie silence. After a brief pause, they simply ended the call. This led me to power down and restart my phone, as I’d heard tales of these sorts of calls potentially being able to tap into future conversations. Fast forward to today, and I got another call from an Asian woman who requested to speak with me. I confirmed it was indeed me on the line. She claimed she was calling from Lloyds Bank and requested my date of birth for verification purposes. I informed her that I had closed my account three months prior and, frankly, had no intentions of opening another anywhere anytime soon. To my surprise, she insisted my account was still active and had been used that very morning. She was adamant about needing urgent verification that it was me. I reiterated my position, stating that my account has been closed, but I would gladly pop into the local branch to sort things out directly. However, she insisted it wasn't necessary and claimed she could confirm my identity over the phone. I responded politely that I would prefer to visit Lloyds after work to clarify the situation with them and provide them the number to confirm that my account was indeed shut. Fingers crossed, this is the last I’ll hear of them! - Caller claimed to be from "Lloyds," but I suspect otherwise.

I've been getting calls from this number about four times every week, purporting to be from Halifax. I've since taken to disregarding these calls completely. It strikes me as rather dodgy, especially as they choose to ring me on a Sunday of all days, and they outright refuse to disclose any information about themselves or their purpose for wanting my personal details. Received a call yesterday from someone purporting to be from Lloyds. They insisted on getting my date of birth and postcode before revealing the purpose of their call. I informed them that I don’t even have an account with Lloyds, and they promptly hung up on me. Fast forward to today (on a Sunday, mind you), I received another call from what sounded like the same individual, this time claiming to be with HSBC. Once again, I don’t bank with HSBC, so I decided to provide them with some fabricated information. They told me they'd noticed some unusual activity concerning my expenditure and proceeded to ask for my account number, sort code, and full name to validate their claim. I played along, stating that I couldn’t recall my HSBC account number. I then asked them to hold while I fetched my statements. I kept them on the line for a good ten minutes before it dawned on them, and they hung up 😁. - caller: 0808 145 0360

I've received three calls from this number on my mobile and one to my parents' phone bright and early, just before 8 am-hardly the sort of time a reputable bank in the UK would ring anyone, it sounds like they were still scoffing their breakfast! They claimed it was urgent to discuss a banking matter. So, I popped down to my local Lloyds branch today to get to the bottom of this. Turns out, there’s absolutely no relation to them whatsoever-they haven't placed any calls to me at all. Definitely a scam! Later this evening, at 8:15 pm, I got another call from an Indian gentleman asserting he was with Lloyds, wanting to chat about my account. I told him to stop trying to con me, as I'd already confirmed everything with my bank earlier. Now, given that my overdraft limit is maxed out, should they somehow stumble across any funds in my account, do you reckon I could get it back? Haha! Steer clear of this number-total scam alert! The wisest purchase I've ever made was my BT phone featuring an integrated call blocker. It's a brilliant device that allows you to pick and choose which calls to answer or reject outright. I received a call earlier today from a lady with an Indian accent regarding my Ultimate Reward account. She had my date of birth and postcode, which has left me a tad anxious. She claimed that I had exceeded my overdraft, though I thought I was well within my limit the last time I checked. What struck me as odd was that she seemed to be aware of the transfers I’d made from my other account. It’s quite unsettling, to be honest. I'm supposed to get a callback at 2 o'clock this afternoon, and I can’t shake off this unease.

They've begun ringing me every day without fail. I picked up once, and the caller claimed to be from Birmingham & Midshires regarding my mortgage. Quite unsettling, considering I actually have a mortgage with them! I mentioned I was busy, and they urged me to ring back, instructing me to change the last digit to reach 08081450369. I opted not to return the call, but upon investigating, I discovered the original numbers were linked to Lloyds Banking Group and B & M. Still, I suspect they might be spoofing numbers, as banks typically don't reach out about such matters. It's becoming quite a nuisance now!
