It seems all too likely this is connected to a smattering of dodgy texts I’d received just days prior. I had already shut down my Monzo account since I wasn’t really using it any longer. When I mentioned that I had closed my account, they became quite irate and dropped a few choice words before abruptly ending the call! Up until that point, they had done a fair job of sounding legitimate; it really didn’t seem like a scam at first.Monzo4 yearsI received a call on my mobile, and the caller seemed to have all my personal information-my full name, address, and even the last four digits of my card number. When I requested verification that it was indeed Monzo on the line, he instructed me to look at the back of my card, claiming that the contact number would match, with just one digit different as he was using an extension.
