Just a heads up about 0800800151 - if you’re blaming BT for this, you’re wrong. It’s some scammers trying to fish for your details. I rang BT myself to double check, and they confirmed it’s nothing to do with them. Don’t ever call back this number! Unfortunately, I fell for it and had to cancel my bank card straight away. Then I got a text the next day asking for my PIN, supposedly to verify me. I’ve reported the number to the police, BT, and my phone provider. Best thing is to just block and ignore it.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT, saying hackers were using our internet during the night. When I asked for the number, they gave me this one. But as soon as I mentioned I’d contact our actual internet provider first and then call back, they just hung up on me.

I received a call from a lady with what I suspect is a fairly thick Indian accent, using the number 0033492127511. She claimed to be representing BT, informing me of some alleged illegal activity linked to my computer. Interestingly, she said she was calling from Newgate Street in London. When I asked to speak to someone who was a native English speaker, considering the bustling nature of their central London call centre, I was then put through to a 'supervisor', who also had a notably strong accent. I repeated my request, but to my surprise, he insisted that no one who spoke native English was available, as they were all occupied with other calls. I decided to hang up and requested a callback number, which he provided as 0800 800 151.
