I've had a trio of text messages from +44 800 587 0181 claiming to be from BT, informing me I've incurred charges for running out of data. Honestly, I haven’t really ventured beyond my home broadband much during the pandemic, so I’m quite convinced it’s some kind of dodgy scam. I’ve chosen not to engage with them at all, and I certainly won’t be responding!

It has come to our attention that several team members have been targeted with a rather dubious text message on their work mobiles. The message reads: "Attention from BT. Your mobile data usage is now costing you 50 pence per MB. For a cheaper alternative, we advise the account holder to ring 08005870181."
