Over the span of two weeks, I received two phone calls from this number. The callers claimed to be from O2, my service provider, and offered a discount. Got a call from O2 about some "monthly cost cut" deal. Same old spiel. The woman hung up as soon as they tried sending me two texts and saw I’m not with O2. Bit disappointing, was looking forward to messing about and wasting her time for a laugh.

Beware of the O2 "monthly cost reduction" scam. The typical scenario unfolds as follows: I received a call from a lady who promptly ended the conversation when she realized I wasn't an O2 customer and attempted to send me two text messages. It's a shame really, as I was anticipating having some fun by leading her on and wasting her time for my own amusement.

I was a bit unsure about this 0800 number ringing me, so I decided to look it up. My phone blocked it and marked it as spam right away, which makes sense now. Glad to have it confirmed as spam!

Beware of fraudulent telecoms companies posing as O2 and offering discount deals. They may ask you for a security code, but please take the time to carefully read the text message. The message specifically alerts you that this is a scam and advises against sharing the code with anyone, including supposed "O2 staff".

This was a total scam attempt. I just said, "Hang on, I’ll look up your number online to see if it’s legit," and they quickly ended the call. Honestly, don’t give them any details or reply to their messages at all!

Got a dodgy call from an 02 number, sounded like one of those usual Indian call centre scams. They had all these fake English names and thick Indian accents, telling me I'd get big discounts on my bills. They asked me to text them a code so they could 'sort it out', but I just hung up and reported it. They kept calling back, getting more annoyed when I ignored them, then finally gave up. Definitely a scam, beware!

On Tuesday 26th September 2023, I got a call from this number while in Manchester. Didn’t know who it was so I left it unanswered. Appreciate everyone leaving their comments here. After seeing all the feedback, I’ve gone ahead and blocked this number.

Totally a scam, they kept ringing me non stop and sending codes, kept asking me to enter them in my phone. Really dodgy!

Some bloke called claiming to be from O2. When I asked him how I could be sure he was legit, he just said “Mam, your voice is breaking” and then cut me off. Absolutely rubbish.

Got a call from a number claiming to be o2, so I asked which department they were with. No answer, just got cut off. Definitely a scam, watch out!
