I received an email claiming that there was unusual activity on my PayPal account, which prompted me to call the number provided. Regrettably, I didn't notice that the URL was off. When I called, I ended up speaking to a call centre in India. The questions they asked struck me as odd, so I decided to hang up - but not before I’d inadvertently given away enough details for them to potentially alter my password. Thankfully, I contacted PayPal directly and, after a brief wait, was able to speak to a real person who helped me rectify my mistake.

I think it might be one of those PayPal scams. They told me I owed £749.99 to Waterstines through PayPal and sent a message asking me to ring that number. When I checked it out, it looks like someone else reported the same email before, so I'm pretty sure it’s a scam.

I got an email telling me to call a number because apparently I’d been scammed and they asked for a PayPal money transfer request too. When I rang the number, it was an Indian call centre which made me really suspicious, so I just ended the call straightaway.

I think this might be a PayPal scam. They claimed there was a payment request for £749.99 to Waterstones on my PayPal account. The request also had a message telling me to ring this number. Just checked and it looks like someone else reported the same email before, so probably a scam.

This was a Paypal scam for me. The phone number they showed isn't actually from Paypal. If you get something like this, just ignore the payment request right in your Paypal account and don’t ring that number.

Somebody rang up pretending to be from my bank, saying there was a £500 purchase on Amazon they wanted to check if I made it. They said if I didn’t, they’d go ahead and block my card. Then they asked me for the registration number and my phone banking PIN to confirm I’m the real account holder. Seemed dodgy to me!

So why were they talking about legal threats over tax I haven’t missed? I didn’t give them any info and now I can’t get through anymore. Feels like a scam to me. Stay careful!

I received a call from 080036897566, which aligns perfectly with the reports found on this site. A woman was on the line claiming to represent HM Customs, warning me that if I didn’t return the call, I risked being arrested. Well, I’ve been hanging around waiting, and not a soul has shown up yet! Quite the surprise, eh? I reckon this is just another dodgy scam!
