Recently, though, they’ve calmed down quite a bit, maybe only ringing me a couple of times each day now. Accidentally answered one today and some bloke said he was with Three, trying to sell me an add-on contract deal. Told him no cheers, and put the phone down.

Twice a day I get a call, six in total over two days, always from someone claiming to be with 3, trying to sell me some new phone deal that’s meant to be amazing value. Don’t fall for it - they are completely bogus, not connected to 3 at all. Just scammers trying it on.

Every so often, I get a bunch of calls from Three, but they come from various numbers. Back in December, I sorted out my broadband deal with them and made it perfectly clear I didn’t want to hear about any more deals or offers. They promised to put an end to the calls. Guess what? Got a ring from this number earlier, the person was quite polite but was pushing a deal for a Galaxy 4s at £10 a month, saying it’s a special thank you for being a loyal customer. We all know there’s no such thing as a bargain like that out of the blue, and usually Three would drop a letter with offers like this. Smells fishy to me, definitely a scam, scam, scam!

I switched my 3 phone contract from my dad’s name to mine recently. This number called me asking to speak to him, but when I said it’s not under his name anymore and it’s under mine, they couldn’t even tell me my own name. Then they tried to sweeten the deal by offering a ‘free large screen smartphone’ for being a loyal customer. I’ve learnt the hard way that nothing’s really free. Seems dodgy to me since I’ve been with 3 for a couple of years and this is the first time I’ve had a call from this number - usually they just send letters. Probably a scam if you ask me.

Looks like this number is linked to Hutchinson 3. I’ve been with them for around ten years and recently set up an extra line for my wife. Things were fine initially. But even though I’ve told them we’re empty nesters, with our kids all in their forties and settled with their own phones, and the grandkids definitely wouldn’t use phones like ours, we’re now bombarded with calls from them multiple times a day. We don’t want more phones, me or my family. Once my contract ends, I’m done with 3 - I’ll be switching providers for the simple reason that I’m not interested in any more offers from them!
